Information the firm collects
Information you provide. When you submit the contact form, request a conversation, or subscribe to the firm's publications, the firm receives what you enter: your name, contact details, and the general nature of your inquiry.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, the firm's service providers record technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, and the site or advertisement that referred you. The site uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics and for advertising measurement.
The site assistant. Ask Clearstone is an automated assistant that answers questions about the firm and helps you request a conversation. Conversations are processed by a third-party AI provider under terms that prohibit the use of your messages to train its models. The firm does not retain the content of your conversation or a record of it.
How the firm uses information
To respond to inquiries, check for conflicts of interest, and schedule conversations. To send publications you have subscribed to. To operate, secure and improve the site. To measure and manage the firm's advertising.
Advertising
The firm advertises through Meta and Google. Those services may use information collected on this site, including through cookies and pixels, to measure advertising and to show the firm's advertisements to people who have visited the site. Montana law treats this as targeted advertising. You may opt out by emailing inquiries@clearstonecounsel.com, by using the advertising controls in your Meta and Google accounts, or by enabling a recognized opt-out preference signal in your browser.
How information is shared
The firm shares information with service providers that host the site, provide analytics, schedule conversations, operate the site assistant, send publications, and maintain the firm's practice-management systems, each only as needed to perform those services. The firm shares information when required by law or to protect its rights. The firm does not sell personal data.
Minors
The site is not directed to anyone under 18, and the firm does not knowingly collect personal data from minors through it. If you believe a minor has provided information through the site, contact the firm and it will be deleted.
Your rights
Montana residents may ask the firm to confirm whether it holds their personal data, to provide a copy, to correct inaccuracies, to delete it, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Send requests to inquiries@clearstonecounsel.com. The firm responds within 45 days and may ask for information needed to verify the request. If the firm declines a request, it will explain why, and you may appeal by replying to that response; if the appeal is denied, you may contact the Montana Attorney General's Office of Consumer Protection.
Retention and security
The firm keeps inquiry and subscription information for as long as needed for the purposes above and as its professional obligations require, then deletes it. The firm uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information it holds.
